Course Information

At The Country Club of Lansing, you will find a golf experience that is unequaled in the Lansing area. Named the "Lansing Golf Club," in 1908, the few acres of land in which 6 holes of golf and one club house stood, has become one of the premier golf courses in the State of Michigan.

In the early 1920s, William G. Langford and the Chicago Park Builders designed and constructed a new 18-hole golf course covering over 150 acres of gently rolling terrain. Today the course features tree-lined fairways, fifty-four beauitful white sand bunkers, a pond on holes 14 and 17 and a natural ravine between holes 8 and 9. The design of the course accommodates a large number of mature trees, with 250 of these trees being provided by the Growing Gift Tree Fund since the early 1980s.

Our PGA professional staff, including Director of Golf John Lindert, are pleased to provide various activities to cater to all of our golfing Members' needs.  Highlights include events such as our Men’s and Women’s Invitational, Men’s, Women’s and Junior Club Championship, Pro-Member Tournament, Toughest Day of the Year Event, Couple's Golf Events and numerous Junior Programs and Summer Golf Camps.

The Country Club of Lansing has always been committed to continual enhancement of the golf course facility in order to provide a first class golf experience for our members.  The Board has authorized significant expenditures to accomplish our goal.  Recent course improvements include: complete bunker renovation, course drainage and irrigation, numerous tee renovations, as well as green expansions.  In addition, we provide our staff with the finest equipment to assure unparalleled course conditions.

The Golf Shop staff offers private instruction along with a broad range of golf related services, including our top-rated Caddy program which has trained many Evans Scholars. The Award-Winning Golf Shop (Best Private Club Pro Shop in Michigan) is also proud to offer a Member-only buying club.  All merchandise and equipment in the golf shop is sold to Members and their guests at greatly reduced prices, which will save up to 40% off retail prices.  These are just a few of the features that help set the standard for making golf at the CCL a fantastic experience for club members and their guests.

Our Golf Course Superintendent, Mark Magee with nearly 30 years of experience, presides over a new maintenance facility which enables him and his staff to continue to deliver the pristine conditions that define the CCL experience.  Many members and their guests believe our greens to be among the finest in the country.  The sloping greens maintain an average of 10 on the stimp meter and are carefully maintained with walking mowers, rolling machines and constant attention.

Our Golf Course also features Stand Six, a beautiful food and beverage area located in the middle of the course. Stand Six offers a wide variety of hot and cold menu items as well as other snacks and beverages.  Call boxes are located on Holes #5 & #10 if you would like to order ahead and take your items to go, or dine right at Stand Six and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding scenery.

Our entire golf staff at The Country Club of Lansing work tirelessly to provide tournament level conditions along with a standard of excellence and challenge for players of all skill levels.
