Come and join fellow CCL swimmers as we swim against teams from Walnut Hills Country Club, The Michigan Athletic Club, and The University Club. If you can swim one length of the pool, you are eligible to join! This will be a lot of fun with a little competition and is a great way to make friends. Swim team lasts six weeks. Practices are Tuesday-Friday mornings, from 8:00-8:45am. Clinics focusing on specific stoke mechanics will be
held Monday afternoons from 3:00-3:45pm.

The Country Club of Lansing’s pool staff offers 5 levels of swimming instruction. Level I (for beginners) through Level V (for more advanced stroke work). There are five sessions to choose from. If you have questions regarding your child’s level, please ask the guards to discuss which session would be of most benefit. Group lessons are two week sessions, Tuesday – Friday or on Saturdays.

Group Lesson: $65 per session, per child
Lessons are between 10:00am-11:00am based on level.
Levels 1 and 2: 10:30-11:00am.
Levels 3, 4, and 5: 10:00-10:45am.

Private Lessons:
$18 per half hour with any guard (one student)
$25 per half hour with pool director
($5 for each additional student)

Pool Director, Laura Camann
Laura is a Red Cross Certified Life Guard (LG), First Aid (FA), CPR, AED, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and is a certified swimming coach. This is Laura's 9th year at the club and her 16th summer guarding. During the school year, Laura is a teacher at Mason Middle School. There are 13 additional pool staff members lead by head guards Abby Camann and Sam Hunt.

S.C.U.B.A Lessons: Summer 2010!

Discover SCUBA: (Ages 10 & up)
This non-certification course (for children 10 years of age and older) is designed for those with no SCUBA experience and who are not certified. Each "dive" session will take place right in the CCL pool and last 30 minutes.
$10 per person per session (equiptment provided)

ZZ Basic SCUBA: (Ages 10-Adult)
This class, held right at the CCL Pool, will complete all academic and pool requirements to prepare for your Open Water certification, which is good for life and accepted worldwide (requres five open water dives for an additional fee.) Children ages 10-16 must take the class with a parent. Contact ZZ Underwater World at 517-485-3894 for more information and to arrange a class to fit your schedule.

Lifeguard Training: Summer 2010

Guard Start Jr. Lifeguard Program:
Children ages 11-14 can prepare for the Lifeguard Training Course and learn about prevention, fitness, response, leadership and professionalism.

Lifeguard Training:
Children must be at least 15 years of age and must be able to swim 300 yards continuously. Upon completion of this training, participants will receive American Red Cross certificates in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED.
