Rules & Etiquette

Reservation Policy

Reservations are requested and appreciated for dining at the Club.  In order to provide the best service possible to our Club Members and their guests, we ask that you take the time to make reservations in advance of your arrival.  For specific special events there will be a mandatory reservation policy in effect.  On certain occasions, we will also request that any changes or cancellations to your reservation be made 24 hours prior to the event in order to accommodate any possible waiting list or to avoid any unnecessary charges to your account.

Dress Code

We ask that our Club Members and their guests dress in attire that is appropriate for the Country Club atmosphere.  At times throughout the year, there will be specific dress codes established for designated Club events.  This will be noted in the monthly newsletter or at the time you make your reservations.

Effective December of 2007, the Board amended our dress code to allow club appropriate denim as acceptable attire in the following areas:

Casual Dining Room, Bar, Pro Shop, Locker Rooms, Patio, Pool and Smoking Lounge

Acceptable denim does not include denim with holes, frayed material, denim shorts, work-type denim, bibs, painter pants or those that are extremely low cut. Denim will not be considered acceptable in any areas other than those noted above, including the following areas:

Main Dining Room, Grille, Golf Course and Range

Members and their guests wearing denim should not enter the Club from the main lobby, but may use any other Club entrance. Management has been instructed to inform members when they are in violation of this policy and ask them to relocate to an approved area, or to change attire. As always, members are responsible for their guest’s attire. The Board believes this change to our Club’s attire policy will allow our members a greater opportunity to frequent their Club. Thank you in advance for your compliance.

Cell Phone Policy

1.  Cell Phones should be on vibrate mode in all areas of the Clubhouse and Golf Course.

2.  Cell Phones may be used on the Golf Course, provided they do not delay pace of play.

3.  Members receiving or making calls should use the main and south lobby areas, the locker rooms, the

pool or patio, or the bar to conduct conversations.

4.  Dining areas should not be used for cell phone conversations. (Except for the bar)

5.  Members are responsible for their guest's cell phone etiquette.

Children at the Club

The Country Club of Lansing is a family-oriented Club which is pleased to accommodate both children and adults.  Children are welcome and encouraged to dine at the Club. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in the bar on Friday’s after 7:00 pm to promote an adult only environment. Our locker room policy requests that children under 16 years of age be accompanied by an adult.  Children’s policies at the pool and on the golf course are specified in the Club rules. Childcare may be available during the summer on Friday and Saturday Nights from 5-10p.m. Arrangements must be made with Member Services at 484-4567. Children must be potty trained, and children may order food during Childcare.

Guest Policies

We encourage you to bring guests to the Club.  On certain occasions when hosting large Member events, there may be a Member only policy in effect.  This will be posted in the newsletter or can be determined by calling the Club’s receptionist.  Guest policies at the pool and on the golf course may vary and are specified in the Club by-laws or by calling the appropriate department.

Reciprocity with other Clubs

The Country Club of Lansing has a long established tradition of reciprocity with other outstanding clubs throughout Michigan and the United States.  In most cases, reciprocal arrangements are available depending on the desired Club’s policy.  We ask that if you wish to visit, dine or golf at another Club, arrangements be made through either our General Manager, the Membership Director or our Golf Professional.   Prior to making arrangements, we ask that your account be in good standing and that specific details of your visit be provided, including times and dates of your requested visit.
